The Ocean Hates You!, Forrest Shaw

The Ocean Hates You!
Forrest Shaw
Former marine biologist turned comedian Forrest Shaw gives a voice to the ocean and trust me, it has some things to say. The Ocean Hates You! is a live science-comedy show. This isn't a lecture with a few jokes. It's a stand-up comedy show built on real science that makes complex environmental issues funny, accessible, and memorable. The show dives into pollution, overfishing, climate change, plastic, and all the many ways humans have managed to trash the most important ecosystem on Earth. Through a mix of stand-up, real science, and a healthy dose of dark humor, Forrest breaks down how we got here and why the ocean has every right to be annoyed. But it's not all doom. The show also celebrates the incredible life still thriving beneath the waves and the practical actions people and communities can take to protect it. Audience participation starts the moment the show begins with live trivia and other surprises woven throughout the night. You'll laugh, learn something new, and leave with a greater appreciation for the ocean, even if it isn't our biggest fan. Forrest Shaw spent more than a decade as a marine and environmental biologist in Florida, working for Miami-Dade County, where he led the Manatee Protection Program and managed large water quality and habitat monitoring projects. His work included seagrass, coral reef, and sea turtle research, and collaborations with state and federal agencies on coastal ecosystem studies. As a comedian, Forrest has appeared at Netflix Is A Joke Fest, Just For Laughs Montreal, and Moontower Comedy Festival. He's been featured on Conan, Live at Gotham, and Jim Jefferies and Friends, and his debut special Poor Decisions is available on Amazon.
