DESCRIPTION Somewhere between the violent rock and roll of Jon Spencer, the sophisticated rhythms of Ali Farka Toure, and the religious disorientation of Jean Meslier, Jesus Christ Taxi Driver makes joyfully irreverent noise. Taking aim at daily banal agonies, and existential uncertainty, the moods shift from meditative to unhinged. The music takes risks. Formed in 2022 on colorado’s front range, they’ve been bringing their wildly disruptive live shows to venues across North America at an incredible pace — Sharing stages with the likes of Frank Black (Pixies), Reverend Horton Heat, A Place To Bury Strangers, A Giant Dog, Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Mo Lowda & The Humble, Wildermiss and The Yawpers. New Album Taxi The Rich is out now! From Portland, Oregon, BendreTheGiant is the vessel for songs by vocalist/producer Ben Estrada (whose resemblance to the wrestling star inspired the project’s name) . Though he has been releasing music since 2020, last year saw the proper launch of BendreTheGiant, as Estrada brought in outside collaborators and producers for the first time in his emerging career. In the year that has followed BendreTheGiant’s debut, the ever-evolving project has moved at a rapid pacer- The group was awarded Song of The Year at the 2025 PNW Music Awards, featured on NPR Music's national Tiny Desk showcase series, and named one of Portland's Best New Bands by Willamette Week. BendreTheGiant's debut album, Swollen Eyes, is out now via Tender Loving Empire Records.
