Mount Saint Elias, Hi Crime

Mount Saint Elias
DESCRIPTION Mount Saint Elias is an Oakland-based indie rock/indie folk band blending folk-rooted songwriting with high-voltage rock energy. Their live shows blur the line between cathartic depth and ecstatic release, pairing a no-boundaries rock & roll spirit with an art-pop sensibility praised by American Songwriter as “evocative and irreverent.” Originally from Kentucky, singer-songwriter Joey Coe draws from the folk traditions he grew up on, pairing literate lyricism with a raw, resonant vocal style. The band’s most recent record features bass, vocals, and production by Josiah Johnson (The Head and the Heart). He’s joined by a band spanning international borders and the gender spectrum—Matteo Lovik, Luna Fuentes, KC van der Zee, and Jewell McMillon—shaping a sound that’s both expansive and deeply personal. They’ve shared stages with artists like John Craigie, Rainbow Girls, and Glitterfox, along with members of Vulfpeck and The Head and the Heart. Their sound has drawn comparisons to Big Thief, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. ___________________________________________________________ Hi Crime is a Seattle-based indie band led by songwriter/producer, Mitch Etter. The band originated as a recording project between Mitch, and vocalist Brielle Rutledge. The two collaborated between 2015-2023, releasing two albums, one EP, and various non-album singles before Brielle exited the band to focus on a visual art career. Hi Crime's third album, Spirit & Candor released in October, 2024 is the first taste of a new era, where traditional band arrangements are swapped out for the stylings of an obsessive bedroom producer.
